Overview

SCO Module 4 – System Safety & Compliance focuses on ensuring safe operations within the gas network through robust system management, compliance with regulatory requirements, and effective oversight of operational procedures. Delegates will develop the knowledge and skills to maintain safe network operations, monitor compliance, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Training combines classroom-based theory with practical exercises and case studies to reinforce understanding of system safety and regulatory compliance.

Objectives

This module develops advanced knowledge and skills for maintaining safe and compliant gas network operations, including:

• System Safety Management – Understanding the design, implementation, and maintenance of safe operational systems within the gas network.
• Regulatory Compliance – Applying industry regulations, standards, and guidelines to all operational activities.
• Monitoring & Reporting – Conducting performance monitoring, audits, and compliance reporting to maintain operational integrity.
• Incident & Emergency Management – Responding effectively to incidents, deviations, and emergency situations.
• Competency & EUSR Standards – Ensuring personnel competency requirements are met and maintaining EUSR registration compliance.
• Continuous Improvement – Identifying areas for operational improvement and implementing corrective actions.

Pre-Course Requirements

Delegates must have completed SCO Module 1, and have suitable reading and writing skills.
