Overview

The NCO Level 2 Diploma is a 10-day qualification designed for operatives carrying out water service laying activities. It provides the skills and knowledge to install and commission water services safely, efficiently, and in line with industry standards.

As part of the course, delegates will also achieve:

  • NRSWA Units LA, O1 & O2 – including a SWQR card.

Training combines classroom-based theory, practical workshop sessions, and portfolio building to demonstrate competence.

Objectives

This course develops the knowledge and skills required to carry out water service laying activities safely and effectively, including:

  • Preparing and maintaining a safe working environment
  • Ensuring health, safety, and environmental compliance on site
  • Excavating and reinstating holes and trenches to statutory requirements
  • Installing water service pipes to industry standards
  • Carrying out jointing of service pipes using approved techniques
  • Undertaking pressure testing, chlorination, and commissioning of new services
  • Operating powered tools and equipment safely and effectively
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation

Pre-Course Requirements

A valid EUSR SHEA Water registration is required. Candidates should ideally hold an NCO Level 1 qualification. Delegates must bring their own PPE, including safety boots, high-visibility clothing, safety hard hat, gloves, and safety glasses.

Who Should Attend?

This course is designed for operatives involved in water service laying activities, including those installing new domestic and commercial service connections.
