Overview

The SHEA Water (Safety, Health and Environmental Awareness) scheme is designed for individuals working across the water industry. It provides essential training in workplace health, safety and environmental awareness, ensuring delegates understand the key principles of safe working and industry-specific risks.

The course is affiliated with the Energy & Utility Skills Register (EUSR) and upon successful completion, delegates will be registered and receive a virtual SHEA Water card.

Objectives

This course develops the awareness and understanding needed to work safely in the water industry, including:

  • A basic understanding of health, safety and environmental principles in the water industry.
  • Recognition of hazards and risks common to water operations.
  • Knowledge of the importance of safe systems of work and industry best practice.
  • Awareness of environmental considerations and sustainable working practices.
  • Adoption of safe behaviours to protect themselves, colleagues and the public.

Pre-Course Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements, but a basic level of written and spoken English is required.

Who Should Attend?

Anyone working within the water industry, including operatives, supervisors and managers, who require a recognised industry health, safety and environmental awareness scheme.
