The NRSWA Unit S7 course prepares Supervisors to monitor the reinstatement of modular surfaces (block paving, flags, slabs) and concrete footways. Delegates will learn to assess laying techniques, bedding, jointing, curing and finish to ensure compliant, safe and durable pedestrian surfaces. Successful completion leads to SWQR registration.
Objectives
On completion of this course, candidates will be able to:
- Understand NRSWA/SROH requirements for modular surfacing and concrete footways.
- Monitor preparation, bedding and finishing of modular blocks, flags and concrete surfaces.
- Assess reinstatement around ironwork, kerbs and features to ensure alignment and durability.
- Identify defects or non-compliant work and ensure corrective action is taken.
- Demonstrate competence through written assessment to achieve SWQR registration.
Pre-Course Requirements
No formal qualifications are required, but delegates should have a basic level of written and spoken English. PPE is required, including safety boots, hi-visibility clothing, gloves, safety glasses, and a safety helmet.
